This sweet animated film was awarded the Annie Award as well as an Oscar for best animated short film this year.

Miami Dogs (ft. The Bark4Green Dogs)

About a two years ago we met up with Keith from Dogs in Cars, we tossed around the idea of him doing Dogs In Cars Miami, so after our meeting we took our pups to the park and Keith was awesome enough to shoot a short video of them.

This past November, Keith came down to Miami and we rounded up some of our Miami pups! We are happy to say that Dogs in Cars Miami was a success and it will debut on one week from tomorrow, January 13, 2015 at 11am PST.

In the meantime, check this amazing video of our Bark4Green Dogs made by Keith Hopkin...

Help spread the word...

We came across an artist that uses her talented skills for an amazing cause, dog adoption. Sarolta Ban's project "Help Dogs with Images", takes ordinary pictures of shelter pups and works her photoshop magic to make the photographs a work of art, bringing out each pups personality through surreal scenes. Each pup has their own story and come from all over the world, you can actually help the cause and upload a picture to Sarolta's project page of a dog that is looking for a home. So far, four out of the ten rescue dogs have found their furever homes and we are keeping our paws crossed that EVERY pup in this series finds a loving home. These photos are truly amazing and if we could we would take them all in, but we are optimistic that with the help of Saolta they will touch the hearts of many people looking to adopt.

Happy National Dog Day!

Today is a very special holiday, its "National Dog Day!"
National Dog Day was started in 2004 to recognize and encourage adoption for shelter pets. If you're looking for a companion of your own look into to find a shelter near you.
We love this quote and thought it was perfect, being National Dog day in all,
'No Matter how little money or how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich.'
We couldn't agree more! So from our pups to yours "Happy National Dog Day!"
Check out the video (below) we thought was a perfect match for Bark4Green and a holiday like today! In the video appropriately titled, 'Wind in my ears' a dog named Odin and his friends are enjoying a simple car ride, but the smile on their faces and the scenery+the music is just pawsome! Yea for #OnTheGoDogs! Enjoy ;)
Submit a photo or tweet us @Bark4Green with your plans to celebrate this joyous occasion!

November is Adopt a 'Senior Pet Month'

In honor of this special month of November (Adopt a Senior Pet Month) we came across these beautiful photographs by New York-based dog photographer Garry Gross, who formerly worked in the fashion and beauty world. Gross studied with the Animal Behavior Center of New York and became a certified dog trainer in 2002, using that training to begin working with dogs and creating Fine Art style portraits. His last project was a series of large scale portraits of senior dogs and he actively supported charities that benefited rescue dogs and senior dogs. Sadly, Gary passed away in 2010. His Senior Dog Portrait collection is heartbreakingly beautifully, it’s amazing how expressive their faces become as they age. We can definitely agree that the unconditional love that a senior dog has is like no other. We are so blessed to have a senior dog of our own, Nina our 17 y.o Bichon <3

Sunshine State: FL

Thinking about hitting South Florida? Well its the perfect time of year to do so! Check out some of our favorite Florida getaways:

1. Miami, FL: Lowes Hotel- Woofie Weekends at Lowes Its a paw-some time of year to hit up SoBe, weather you want to have brunch al fresco on Lincoln Road with fido or enjoy a quiet day at the Park, make sure you bring some water and a frisbee or toy!

2. Key West, FL:

The Chelsea House: The guest rooms at this gorgeous historic inn range is just two blocks for the famous Duval Street. They don't have a pet wight limit but they do have a $25 pet fee pet night for each pet. Make sure you call in advance to reserve your room because they have particular rooms that allow pets.

The Reach A Waldorf Astoria Resort: Escape to the beach or explore Old Town & Duval Street. Its a beautiful resort right on the white sandy beach. They do have a pet policy so make sure you read up on that before booking your room. This was one of the few hotels we found that does not have a weight policy (which usually is 25 lbs or less) which really stinks, because where are we suppose to leave our big dogs? When we travel we take all 3 of our pups so its really important that we find a great hotel in a great location that doesn't have a weight limit.

Travel Fun w/ our 'Furry Kids'...

Even though we are approaching Fall, we think traveling with your pets could be a year round affair. Not only is the temperature becoming cooler, but we don't have to worry about those pesky bug bites or hot pavement on their sensitive paws (which btw, we like to either use doggy wipes or paw conditioning treatment for dry paws). Fall is the perfect time for a quick weekend getaway & why not bring fido with you? We put together a few of our fave spots to visit & everyday we'll be sharing our top spots along with pet friendly hotels & things to do with your pet. So stay tuned to our posts!

Get Treats Made in the USA -->NOT these...

By now most of us have heard about how the popular chicken jerky treats that are made in China can be dangerous for our dogs. Well it was reported yesterday out of Chicago that the first class-action lawsuit has been filed. It was sad to hear about some of the pets that got sick and how it's believed to be somehow linked to the jerky strips from China. It reminds us about the importance of feeding our pets healthy & nutritious food and treats, and, ones that are made in the USA.

Benji's fave toy

Benji (our whippet/jack/lab mix) has been inseparable from his West Paw Design Eco Bone! We can't complain either- this awesome toy is made by one of our favorite dog companies West Paw Design :) The stuffing inside is made from recycled Intelliloft, which is recycled fibers made from plastic bottles! Ck out the chart below to see the process! Benji is an avid Chewer & most (90%) of all his toys are UNSTUFFED- b/c he likes to take out ALL the stuffing-LoL! Below he's showing off his pearly whites while playing w/ his Eco Bone.
