Denali

There are countless videos we love to share, mostly because they are funny or cute and as animal lovers our hearts just melt when we see puppies. Then there are those videos/short films that really touch us and we find ourselves balling, like a dagger in our pet loving heart, when we see a fellow pet owner have to go through the unspeakable and that is battling something out of our control, and share it with the world. The bond between Ben Moon and his pup Denali is what it feels like to have rescued someone and then finding out that in the end they rescued you. Ben and his then girlfriend rescued Denali from a local shelter in 1999, soon after Ben and his girlfreind ended their relationship, Ben lived out of his car with his companion Denali. A photographer, Moon and Denali would live and drive out of their Subaru and photograph surfers and rock climbers in the Pacific Northwest. In 2004, Ben was diagnosed with stage 3+ colorectal cancer. While in the hospital, nurses would let Denali come and visit Ben, helping him through his recovery. After Ben beat cancer they hit the road again. Then, in 2013, Denali was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly at the age of 14, it was just too much for him and he passed away one month later. This video was so beautifully made, from all point of views, especially Denali's. We think that both Ben and Denali were very lucky to have had each other.

Miami Dogs (ft. The Bark4Green Dogs)

About a two years ago we met up with Keith from Dogs in Cars, we tossed around the idea of him doing Dogs In Cars Miami, so after our meeting we took our pups to the park and Keith was awesome enough to shoot a short video of them.

This past November, Keith came down to Miami and we rounded up some of our Miami pups! We are happy to say that Dogs in Cars Miami was a success and it will debut on CuteOVerload.com one week from tomorrow, January 13, 2015 at 11am PST.

In the meantime, check this amazing video of our Bark4Green Dogs made by Keith Hopkin...

Help spread the word...

We came across an artist that uses her talented skills for an amazing cause, dog adoption. Sarolta Ban's project "Help Dogs with Images", takes ordinary pictures of shelter pups and works her photoshop magic to make the photographs a work of art, bringing out each pups personality through surreal scenes. Each pup has their own story and come from all over the world, you can actually help the cause and upload a picture to Sarolta's project page of a dog that is looking for a home. So far, four out of the ten rescue dogs have found their furever homes and we are keeping our paws crossed that EVERY pup in this series finds a loving home. These photos are truly amazing and if we could we would take them all in, but we are optimistic that with the help of Saolta they will touch the hearts of many people looking to adopt.

Happy National Dog Day!

Today is a very special holiday, its "National Dog Day!"
National Dog Day was started in 2004 to recognize and encourage adoption for shelter pets. If you're looking for a companion of your own look into Petfinder.com to find a shelter near you.
We love this quote and thought it was perfect, being National Dog day in all,
'No Matter how little money or how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich.'
We couldn't agree more! So from our pups to yours "Happy National Dog Day!"
Check out the video (below) we thought was a perfect match for Bark4Green and a holiday like today! In the video appropriately titled, 'Wind in my ears' a dog named Odin and his friends are enjoying a simple car ride, but the smile on their faces and the scenery+the music is just pawsome! Yea for #OnTheGoDogs! Enjoy ;)
Submit a photo or tweet us @Bark4Green with your plans to celebrate this joyous occasion!

"Savor Every Moment"

Check out this amazing short movie made for Petcurean  by Keith Hopkin. This video is a perfect example of why we LOVE our pets! No matter what they are doing, they are enjoying every minute of it! There is a portion of the video that captures underwater shots that Keith did with the help of Seth Casteel. We are HUGE supporters of Keith & wish him much success! This video has already been mentioned in Fast Company  & the  HuffPost Green. (Click on the Links to read the articles ;)

Sunshine State: FL

Thinking about hitting South Florida? Well its the perfect time of year to do so! Check out some of our favorite Florida getaways:

1. Miami, FL: Lowes Hotel- Woofie Weekends at Lowes Its a paw-some time of year to hit up SoBe, weather you want to have brunch al fresco on Lincoln Road with fido or enjoy a quiet day at the Park, make sure you bring some water and a frisbee or toy!

2. Key West, FL:

The Chelsea House: The guest rooms at this gorgeous historic inn range is just two blocks for the famous Duval Street. They don't have a pet wight limit but they do have a $25 pet fee pet night for each pet. Make sure you call in advance to reserve your room because they have particular rooms that allow pets.

The Reach A Waldorf Astoria Resort: Escape to the beach or explore Old Town & Duval Street. Its a beautiful resort right on the white sandy beach. They do have a pet policy so make sure you read up on that before booking your room. This was one of the few hotels we found that does not have a weight policy (which usually is 25 lbs or less) which really stinks, because where are we suppose to leave our big dogs? When we travel we take all 3 of our pups so its really important that we find a great hotel in a great location that doesn't have a weight limit.

Travel Fun w/ our 'Furry Kids'...

Even though we are approaching Fall, we think traveling with your pets could be a year round affair. Not only is the temperature becoming cooler, but we don't have to worry about those pesky bug bites or hot pavement on their sensitive paws (which btw, we like to either use doggy wipes or paw conditioning treatment for dry paws). Fall is the perfect time for a quick weekend getaway & why not bring fido with you? We put together a few of our fave spots to visit & everyday we'll be sharing our top spots along with pet friendly hotels & things to do with your pet. So stay tuned to our posts!
