According to the National Retail Federation's Halloween Spending Survey, 22 millions Americans will plan to dress up their pets and spend nearly $330 million on costumes on their fur-kids! The U.S Food and Drug Administration had sent out a statement on Tuesday regarding 3,600 pets that became ill after consuming jerky pet treats. Approximately 580 of those pets have died due to a common factor in the consumption of a chicken/duck jerky treats imported from China."Pet owners should be aware that manufacturers do not need to list the country of origin for each ingredient used in their products," the FDA stated, "so packages that do not state on the label that they are made in another country may still contain ingredients sourced from China or other countries that export to the U.S."
We are so heart-broken over the number of families that had a beloved pet become ill from these treats. It's not as if they were giving them table food or intentionally giving them something bad, they were giving there four-legged companion TREATS, which is given when the pet is doing something good or deserves one just because we love them. These poor pets should not have to suffer.
We urge you, as a pet owner to PLEASE read the labels on the products you choose to purchase for your pets. If you are uncertain or it doesn't clearly state, do your research; or better yet we always ask the question, "Would YOU consume those ingredients?" After all, our pets are a part of our family and we love them dearly, we owe it to them to feed and care for them as responsible pet owners.

Have you seen the adorable Norman The Scooter Dog? We are huge fans of the this French Sheepdog & his pawsome tricks. It just so happens that Norman has successfully reached his attempt to set the record as the fastest scooter riding dog, yesterday, (See the video above!) He's been on The Late Show with David Letterman, GMA, and the Cartoon Network to name a few! Norman's goal is to end dogs being bred through puppy mills.
We are not only big fans of his unbelievable tricks but also this pups ability to create the proper awareness to such a great cause. Norman raises money for a very special group that helps rescue animals from high kill shelters and relocates them to No-Kill shelters. To help Norman and donate to this great organization, click here (www.RoadTripHome.com)
Throw Norman the Scooter Dog a 'Like' on Facebook ;)
Check out many more of his videos on his very Youtube Channel
We first saw Norman showing off his skills on The Late Show with David Letterman:
Check Norman out riding a bike-Yup, a bike! This pup likes to not only cruise on his scooter but his own bike :) We're lovin' his blue bike with his name on it, too!
If you thought sharing the TV remote control with your significant other, was enough-well think again because it looks like you might be sharing it with another member of the house, and yes we are talking about your four-legged companion! On August 1, DOGTV will be launching nationwide on Direct TV! That's right for a steal of a deal of $4.99/month fido will be able to tap into HIS own doggy entertainment channel. Now don't break out fido's Thundershirt because you may not be a subscriber to DirectTV, you can select a monthly bundle online! You can choose from a monthly service to a 12 month subscription package. DOGTV is said to help stimulate, entertain, relax & habituate your pup with a variety of shows. The visual content has been modified to be compatible with a dogs eyesight, since dogs are colorblind, "they can only see blue & yellow, they can't see red & green like humans do" says, DOGTV's CEO Gilad Nuemann, that is why DOGTV accentuates certain colors with their programming so fido can actually see what's on the screen.
We all know that nowadays we are constantly on the go and sometimes poor fido is left at home all alone with nothing to do, so why not leave him on the couch watching his channel? Well, there are mixed feelings about this, because with the growing epidemic of obesity with people and also dogs, its giving dog owners and their dogs another reason to stay home and be a couch potato. We all know the importance of healthy living and fitness and what a major importance it is to stay active. From our take we think DOGTV is a cool, fun go-to if you are leaving your pup to go to the grocery store or can't take him along for whatever reason, because them watching DOGTV in the comfort of their home is a WAY BETTER solution than to leave them in a car for a long period of time, which is a no, no- but once your home with him you should definitely turn off the tube and go for a long walk to stretch your legs and keep the WHOLE family active!

We've often heard that some pets look similar to their owners & we've even come across a few with some funny resemblance's, but professional photographer Sebastian Magnani's series of 'Dogs Dressed as Humans' shows dogs and their owners with an uncanny resemblance to one another, with a side by side profile picture and the dog dressed the same as the owner. What's your take? Does your pooch look like you?
