Super Bowl will be on February 5, 2012 & the NY Giants will be going for a another Super Bowl win this year against the New England Patriots. Will you be watching?! We sure will! We are soOoO excited for the GMEN!!! Not only are we excited for the big game but also the Super Bowl Commercials- this is one of the few times we don't use our Tivo to fast forward-lol! We came across the new VW commercial for this year's Super Bowl ad & it has a canine chorus barking a familiar tune check it out...
is promoting greyhound racing & we are not happy :/ As read in the attached article from the ASPCA, Sketchers is said to have filmed their Super Bowl ad at an Arizona Greyhound track. The ad features Mr. Quiggly the French Bulldog wearing sketchers sneakers competing against Greyhounds. Sad. Very sad. We recently read about the cruelty to greyhounds and find it astounding as to how someone can keep a helpless dog muzzled and in a cage for up to 20 hours a day & have any "excess" puppies killed. The ASPCA is asking for all animal lovers to "Take Action" & visit ASPCA partner organization GREY2K USA to add your name to the petition.

And the best Dressed at the Golden Globes was...Uggie the Jack Russell Terrier! Like most of you we had our viewing party of the Golden Globes, we had so many of our faves win big Sunday night-including Uggie the dog from the movie the Artist. Not only did Uggie and his cast win for Best Picture- but he looked very dapper with his bow-tie when he walked the red carpet & showed off his star-quality! Uggie has a rags to riches story sadly he was rejected by his first two owners as being too wild, he was about to be sent to a dog pound, but was adopted by animal trainer Omar Von Muller after his friends told him about the dog. Initially Von Muller only intended to foster Uggie but later decided to keep him!
Next up for Uggie is the Oscars-Good Luck Uggie :)

Study Buddies... We saw this story and wanted to share it with all of you who may have missed it. It talks about how therapy dogs are good for law students and we agree. Our brother is currently studying law so we are witnesses to how difficult law school can be with all the reading and writing required. He loves when we bring our dogs to his house as it gives him a much needed relief from his grueling studies!
